Hi there!

I'm Kylie, a Mom, Disnerd, tap dancer, and a wicked awesome Boston Native.

I'm Kylie

After graduation college with a bachelor's in interior design (a life long dream... No joke I have old "floor plans" that I would draw on grid paper of castles when I was 6....), I spent about 14 years in the field - doing both Commercial and Residential work.

As with everyone else, burnout became a serious issue after Covid. Sadly, clients were becoming less patient and kind even when we struggled to meet the high demands with little control over the supply chain. People think interior design is the coolest job. It is when you get to put colors and fabrics together. But that's only about 5% of the time you actually spend on a project.

The last straw, coincidentally, was during our 2022 annual trip to WDW. I remember it vividly. We were in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride and I received a phone call from an angry client because they needed to know the exact height of a wall sconce IMMEDIATELY...Even though I had specifically prepped for the vacation with my family. After being on the receiving end of some VERY unkind words, I realized that I was done.

Just before we had left for that trip, I had been commenting to my husband that I really wish there was a t-shirt for the Winking hippo on It's a Small World. I've always loved that animatronic, and whether she's actually broken or she's supposed to be that way, she's become an icon. So I took matters into my own hands and drew my own graphic to make a t-shirt for myself.

When we got home and I gave my notice at work - I wasn't sure what was next. I knew I had to get my creative juices flowing again. So I took some drawing classes to get it moving again. I tried figure drawing, oil painting, cartoon drawing and a lot of other ones!

But my husband kept nudging me to make more t-shirts because he saw how happy it made me. So I did. And I continued and continued... and suddenly here we are. I look at some of those earlier t-shirts and I cringe. You won't see those on the website.. those were some first trial runs πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Of course, I have been so lucky to have the chance to take on this venture - I have an amazing husband and kids who have supported me through it all!

And of course, I'm so lucky to have amazing customers LIKE YOU who add pixie dust EVERY DAY to my life. I can't thank you enough!!!

Love, Kylie
