The burning smell in the Rome scene (it's actually the Library of Alexandria - yes, I know, but I can't fit that on a tee) on Spaceship Earth comes from a device Disney Imagineers invented called the Smellitzer — named after the Howitzer cannon, because it shoots scented air in precise puffs timed to the ride vehicles. It was invented in 1981 specifically for Spaceship Earth, making it the first attraction to use scent effects. The smoke blows from the right side of the vehicle, across your face, and gets immediately sucked into an exhaust fan so it doesn't fill the building. The graffiti on the wall in that scene is an exact replica of graffiti found in the ruins of Pompeii. People have been buying candles that smell like Rome Burning. The smell has been described as smoked paprika, smoked ham, a steakhouse, and chicken. It's all of those things. This subtle Disney shirt is for everyone who genuinely loves it. Comfort Colors 1717.
Machine wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low. Don’t iron the print.
A note on the garment dye: slight color variation between washes is completely normal — it's part of what gives these tees their vintage character, not a sign anything's gone wrong.
Tees ship from an external warehouse within 3–5 business days. From there, USPS typically delivers within 5–7 business days.
Planning a park trip? Order at least 14 business days before you travel, or drop me an email at kylie@thequirkymouse.com and I'll help you figure out the timing.
Returns and exchanges aren't something I'm able to offer through the warehouse — but if your tee arrives damaged, I'll always make it right. Email me with your order number and a photo of the damage and we'll sort it out.
