The Walt Disney World Haunted Mansion opened October 1, 1971 — an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom, set not in New Orleans Square but in Liberty Square, its Dutch Gothic architecture pulling hard from New England Gothic and the shadow of Sleepy Hollow.

Walt Disney World never got the holiday overlay. Imagineers made a deliberate choice: since so many guests make once-in-a-lifetime visits to Magic Kingdom, everyone deserved to experience the Haunted Mansion in its classic, uninterrupted form. That decision says something. This mansion is preserved. The Hatbox Ghost materialized here on November 30, 2023 — long-anticipated, finally home, exactly where he belongs.

The I Like My Mansions Haunted tee is for the Magic Kingdom Haunted Mansion devotees — the Disney adults who know every portrait in the stretching room, who specifically chose the WDW version, and who will explain why the Liberty Square setting makes it the definitive experience, calmly and at considerable length.

The Disneyland version exists. It's not the same. It doesn't need to be.

FOUNDER STORY

From Interior Designer To Happiness Designer

Kylie Bodiya always dreamed of being an interior designer—she even sketched castles on grid paper as a kid. After 14 years in the field, burnout hit hard, especially after Covid, and the final straw came when an angry client called her—while she was in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride at Disney—demanding the exact height of a wall sconce. That moment made it clear: it was time for something new. Just before that trip, Kylie had wished for a t-shirt featuring the winking hippo from It’s a Small World, so she designed one herself.

That creative spark led her to explore drawing, painting, and, eventually, designing more shirts. With a little encouragement from her husband and a whole lot of passion, The Quirky Mouse was born. Now, she gets to create joyful, nostalgic designs for people who love Disney magic as much as she does—something she’s endlessly grateful for, thanks to the incredible support of her family and the amazing customers who bring pixie dust to her journey every day! ✨
